Apply now ↓The Game Builder Initiative gives creators the opportunity to turn game ideas into playable experiences using our dedicated game development environment built with ready made customizable game assets. The initiative is open to creators, NFT communities, developers, shops, brands and anyone with a strong game concept and the drive to build it into something people will want to play. Whether you are starting with an idea or already have a project in development, the initiative provides the tools and infrastructure to create, test, launch, and grow your game. Our goal is not simply to help creators make games. We want to help build games that develop active player communities, create lasting engagement, and have the potential to grow into a business.
From classic game formats and competitive experiences to puzzles, casual games, and entirely new concepts, the Game Builder gives creators the tools to turn ideas into playable experiences. Explore examples of what can be built with the Game Builder and see how different concepts can be shaped into games that players can experience, return to, and engage with.
Have an idea of your own? The examples are only a starting point. Bring your concept and explore what you can build with the Game Builder.
Building a game is more than creating the experience itself. The Game Builder provides the tools and infrastructure to help creators take a game from an initial concept through development, launch, and ongoing growth.
Start with an available game format and shape it into your own experience. Customize elements such as characters, worlds, colours, items, branding, and other components to create a game that fits your vision.
Focus on building your game while the game engine handles the underlying technical infrastructure required to operate it. This includes servers, multiplayer infrastructure where applicable, scaling, uptime, updates, and other technical operations.
Keep your game active beyond its initial launch with shared live-operations infrastructure. Create and run seasonal themes, event boards, tournaments, challenges, item drops, scheduled campaigns, and other activities that give players reasons to return.
Build with a path toward a sustainable game business. Depending on the game and its audience, creators can explore monetization through advertising, digital items, tournaments, and other appropriate models.
Understand how players interact with your game through visibility into key metrics such as acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization. Use real player behaviour to identify what is working, what needs improvement, and where to focus your growth efforts.
The Game Builder Initiative is open for applications, but places in the Founding Creator Program are selected based on the strength of each application and the creator's ability to follow through. We are looking for creators who have a clear idea, a willingness to build, and a plan for turning their game into something players will want to discover, play, and return to.
Know what you want to build and what makes the idea worth playing. Your concept should give us a clear understanding of the game, its audience, and the experience you want to create.
Building the game is only part of the journey. We want to see how you plan to attract players, build awareness, and grow an active community around your game.
Selected creators are expected to actively work on their projects and make consistent progress throughout the program.
Be willing to share updates, milestones, challenges, and learnings as you build. Progress helps us understand your project and gives the wider community an opportunity to follow the journey.
Great games are developed through iteration. You should be prepared to test your game, listen to feedback, identify what needs improvement, and make changes based on what you learn.
The initiative is about more than creating a game. We want creators who are willing to connect with players, other builders, and the wider community as their project develops.
Selected creators will be expected to work toward defined milestones throughout the program. Your ability to stay engaged and make meaningful progress will be an important part of the journey.
Have a strong idea and are ready to build? The application is your opportunity to tell us what you want to create, who it is for, and how you plan to make it happen.
100 Projects, 100 Games The Game Builder Initiative begins with a founding cohort of 100 selected projects. Each selected project will receive a branded mobile game built with the Game Builder engine, giving projects a new way to engage their communities, attract players, and create an active gaming experience around their brand. The Founding Creator Program provides selected projects with:
But the goal goes beyond giving projects a game. Founding Creators will be expected to bring their communities into the experience, attract new players, create reasons for players to return, and consistently operate and grow their game after launch. This means having a clear approach to player acquisition, retention, content, community activation, execution, and long-term sustainability.
The Founding Creator Program is designed as a staged journey. Projects will gain access progressively, giving them time to prepare their game, activate their community, test the experience, and build toward launch.
Apply to the program, develop your game concept, plan your customization, prepare your marketing strategy, establish your waitlist, and begin activating your community.
A small group of approximately 5 to 20 selected projects will receive early access to the Game Builder. This group will help test the engine, create customized game examples, and demonstrate what can be built.
As access expands, selected projects begin building their games and inviting members of their communities to participate in closed testing. Early player feedback helps shape and improve the experience before launch.
Projects can begin launch-related activities. By this stage, projects should have their game concept, audience, waitlist, marketing plan, launch strategy, initial content, and early testing feedback in place.
Games launch through selected distribution channels and move into ongoing operation. Founding Creators continue to manage community activation, marketing, content, events, and growth while Game Builder provides the underlying infrastructure.
